Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy is based on the best practice guidelines set by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

We will only record your email address if you send us a message or subscribe to our mailing list. Your email address will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and we will not disclose it to anyone without your consent.

When you visit our website, our Internet Service Provider makes a record of your visit for statistical purposes, which we use to see how people use our website and look for ways to improve it.

The following information is logged:

  • your server address
  • your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc),
  • the date and time of your visit
  • the pages you access and any documents you download
  • the previous site you visited
  • the type of browser you used.

This information is very useful in helping us to continue to improve the website but your ideas and suggestions are much more valuable. Please contact us or use the ‘rate this page’ feature to help us understand what you like and don't like about this website.

In the unlikely event where a warrant has been issued as part of an investigation by a law enforcement agency to inspect the Internet Service Provider's logs, the information we collect may need to be provided.

Exceptions

We will never use this information to identify users with the following exceptions.

If you make a submission during the electoral boundary review, you will need to provide your contact information in case we need to contact you. Typically, we will ask for your full name, postal address, daytime telephone number, mobile telephone number, email address and/or fax number. We will also ask you to confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. This information will only be used for the purpose of the review and will never be disclosed to a third party.

However, you should also be aware that your submission will become a public document and made available for public viewing at the office and on this website.  Any contact information (such as your address or letterhead) you provide in the submission itself will be publicly accessible and will be retained on the website for its historical value.
